The new mobile clinic will allow us to overcome many common barriers to health care access cited by patients: lack of time, limited transportation options and a feeling of medical ‘homelessness’ related to inconsistent medical care. It’s an honor to be a part of this groundbreaking project.

Mobile Health ClinicMany families in rural Oregon live without access to medical care and without resources to pay for care. For this reason Cascades East Family Medicine Residency created a Mobile Health Clinic in order to deliver health care to where it is needed the most. The Mobile Health Clinic is a fully equipped vehicle featuring two private exam rooms, a patient education area and a nurses’ station. It is staffed by residents and faculty and supplied with basic medical equipment and medications. The Mobile Health Clinic is currently delivering much needed care to the city of Klamath Falls’ underserved patients on a bi-monthly basis at the Gospel Mission and the local women’s shelter. It also travels to underserved outlying areas such as the small town of Sprague River. The clinic is capable of being a Disaster Response Unit with physicians and residents ready to respond if a need were to arise.
